I remember the House Wiki had a completely different story about Wilson's family background, also full of stuff that was never canon. In the published Official Guide to the show this is what RSL said about Wilson, though David Shore seemed to disagree about the depth of Wilson's neuroses and the writer's take means more than the actor's. (A nice fan scanned and posted the entire chapter on Wilson here (http://rslfan.livejournal.com/121886.html?view=122654#t122654).) [it explains] his caution, yes. He comes from a dysfunctional family. A lot of plaster fell on his head from that incident. He ran away from home. He's never been the same since. A lot of this is sketchy... In my mind I think his parents are shit and they took a lot of the pain from the older brother and transferred it into blame on the younger for not helping them because they're pathetic parents.
